What can I do for you?

Years ago -
In President John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, he provided what is quite possibly one of his most famous quotes:
"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what can you do for your country." http://www.halexandria.org/dward821.htm

Now maybe if you are in business you should be considering a similar approach and be asking your customers- "What can I do for you? versus "What can I sell you?"

Social media is the perfect platform to put that question out there. What can you do for your customers?
Do they want more education on a product?
What would they like to see from you?
What could we offer you that you feel would help your lives?
By providing information, a service or help you won't be selling a product or service but you will be selling in a far better way. You will have sold them on you! That can't be bought for any amount of money. You will have created a relationship and a customer, not because of the product but because of your efforts and the sales will come. Trust is earned not bought!

Think about it- how many products or services do you purchase from companies or people that you don't trust?
